This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s Corporate Office locations in Scottsdale, AZ.

The Hills Golf Club is seeking a full-time, year-round Accounting Manager to join the Finance & Accounting Department. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Complete month end accounting closing/reporting including standard & recurring journal entries, allocations, payroll entries, real estate closings, and review of detailed general ledgers.

• Maintain accurate general and subsidiary ledgers, including reconciliations.

• Oversee accounts receivable and related intercompany billings.

• Monthly reporting to include balance sheet reconciliations, roll forwards and financial statements. 

• Maintain intercompany accounts ensuring they are in balance.

• Provide assistance with accounts payable when necessary.

• Adhoc projects as directed by development controller or CFO.

• Participate in the annual external audit exercise.

• Process improvement and implementation of current GAAP/FASB pronouncements.

• Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members, guests, and team members.

• Coordinate with or assist other departments as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

• Four (4) to six (6) years of experience, preferable in development or real estate accounting.

• Prior knowledge of job cost and Work in Progress, preferred

• Prior working knowledge of accounting applications to include Sage/Intacct, preferred.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours.

• Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
