The Role:

To support the company’s financial reporting & accounting team in the shared goal of achieving excellence in producing US GAAP financial statements on a timely and accurate basis. Responsible for leading staff in the accounting dept. by directly impacting the workflow, timeline and tasks of month-end and quarter-end close. Additionally, this leadership role will be asked to provide management & ownership toward close-related objectives and accounting related projects, while being a steward of the financial systems of the company.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily/weekly/monthly operations of the accounting department
  • Establish, where appropriate, and maintain adherence to financial close deadlines
  • Establish, where appropriate and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
  • Review monthly/quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Produce/interpret/development ad hoc financial reporting for company, as needed
  • Assist team with external audit requests
  • Assist team with various projects as determined by director/controller maintain/develop best practices of close related tasks, workflow, and reporting from the newly implemented ERP system, Workday
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
  • Assist with intercompany transactions, consolidations, and GAAP reporting

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, along with experience in industry and/or public accounting required; master’s degree in accounting, M.B.A. or other graduate level degree preferred
  • Master’s degree in accountancy or related field, preferred
  • CPA License

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of related work experience
  • Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting requirements
