Job Description:
Reporting to Plant Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for accounting functions, encompassing P&L analysis, sales analysis, spend management, CRS, and fixed assets. Responsibilities include the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required, as well as active participation in month-end close processes.
Primary Duties
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure daily, weekly, month-end and year-end close processes are performed, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Ensuring that the general ledger is closed within the timelines of the Company's closing schedule.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee fixed assets, CAPEX monitoring, lease accounting, including tracking and depreciation schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards.
- Reviewing and performing account analysis and reconciliations. Developing strong working relationships with coworkers and other departments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting for and maintaining Inventory in a manufacturing environment.
- Identifying process inefficiencies and helping to support the identification of the underlying root causes.
- Partnering with other finance and non-finance groups to support design and implement process improvement.
- Prepare monthly JEs, month-end analysis and account reconciliations.
- Knowledge on Fixed assets administration (CIP follow up, FA Cycle counts, Capitalizations, Disposals, Transfers).
- Other duties as required to support business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum 6-7 years of experience in a manufacturing plant accounting.
- Minimum 4-5 years of cost accounting experience.
- Minimum 1 year of managerial experience.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral.
- High attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with a good business judgment.
- Methodical with ability to identify gaps in processes.
- Ability to handle multiple communication styles.
- Experience with low volume high mix manufacturing process.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
- Team player, self-starter, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of ERPs. SAP and JDE strongly preferred, CRS knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power point, etc.).
Working Conditions
- Remains in a stationary position 80% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment ‘PPE’ when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.
- May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
- Domestic and international travel required approximately 10%.
