Rockstar is recruiting for a venture-backed proptech company that is redefining how homeowners unlock value in their biggest asset. By connecting renovation with financing and selling, the client creates new ways to buy, sell, and build real wealth. The company moves fast, challenges broken systems, and holds a high bar for clarity and outcomes. This is an opportunity to join a high-growth, VC-backed business where ownership is real and impact is visible.

Why This Role Exists

The company is scaling fast, and finance has to scale with the business, not behind it. It grew from approximately $50M last year and is on pace for approximately $100M this year, which means the complexity, volume, and importance of its accounting operation is increasing quickly. The company needs someone who can bring rigor to the numbers while also helping build the systems, workflows, and automation that will support the next stage of growth.

This role is for an accounting leader who wants to be in the middle of the business, not sitting on the sidelines closing the books. The person will work across Finance, Operations, Product, and Engineering to improve how financial data moves through the company, strengthen controls, automate repetitive work, and give leadership better visibility into the business. The company wants someone technically strong, high-energy, resourceful, and AI-native: someone who can run clean accounting today while helping design a smarter finance function for tomorrow.

What You Will Do
  • Own the company’s core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close, and disciplined financial controls across the business
  • Maintain the integrity of the company’s financial records, including the general ledger, reconciliations, intercompany activity, and accounting documentation
  • Partner with leadership to provide accurate financial reporting and insights that support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Design, improve, and standardize accounting processes, controls, and workflows that allow the finance organization to scale with the business
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations to improve financial systems, reporting infrastructure, integrations, and workflow automation
  • Leverage AI and modern finance technologies to automate repetitive work, improve accuracy, accelerate financial processes, and increase operational efficiency
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax professionals, banking partners, and other financial service providers
  • Exercise independent judgment in researching, resolving, and documenting complex accounting matters while continuously identifying opportunities to strengthen the company’s financial operations
Who You Are
  • You are an accountant first: you care deeply about accuracy, discipline, and getting the details right
  • You thrive in fast-growing environments where systems are being built, not inherited
  • You take ownership of problems, think critically, and drive solutions independently
  • You are energized by improving processes and building scalable financial operations
  • You embrace AI and technology as tools to modernize accounting and eliminate unnecessary manual work
  • You communicate clearly across finance, operations, engineering, and executive leadership
  • You operate with urgency, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience owning month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
  • Experience improving accounting processes, controls, or financial systems
  • Proficiency with modern accounting software, Excel, and financial reporting tools
  • Experience working with AI, automation, or technology-enabled accounting workflows strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in a high-growth, technology, real estate, construction, or transaction-intensive business preferred
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary & benefits in a high-growth, VC-backed company
  • Real ownership, clear accountability, and the authority to make decisions that matter
  • Direct working relationships with the company’s founders and senior leaders on initiatives that shape how the company grows
  • The opportunity to design and build in a company where craft, clarity, and outcomes are valued
  • A fast-moving environment where strong work leads to more responsibility and more opportunity
  • Flexibility in how and where you work, paired with high expectations for impact
  • A culture that values contribution, judgment, and follow-through over titles or tenure
