As our multifamily portfolio continues to grow, we're adding an Accounting Manager to strengthen our accounting team and build additional bench strength alongside our Controller. This is a newly created role designed to support a scaling organization — helping drive a smooth, accurate month-end close, stronger reporting and analytics, and more standardized processes across a growing number of properties. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Controller and accounting staff, and will play a key role in process improvement and technology adoption as the company expands.
Accounting Manager responsibilities are:-
• Support the Controller in driving a timely, accurate month-end and year-end close across property-level and corporate entities, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, helping ensure proper GAAP presentation and clear variance analysis against budget.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting package preparation, analysis and distribution.
• Partner with the Controller to standardize and improve accounting processes and procedures as the portfolio grows, identifying opportunities to streamline recurring workflows.
• Support oversight of the AP and credit card programs alongside the Controller and AP Coordinator/Specialist, helping ensure invoices and card transactions are coded, posted, and paid accurately and on time.
• Help build and maintain analytics and KPI reporting (aging, disbursements, expense trends, close timeliness) to give leadership clear visibility into financial performance.
• Assist with corporate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and reporting support.
• Support the integration of new property acquisitions into accounting systems and reporting processes.
• Help evaluate and implement technology and automation opportunities across the accounting function, including AI-enabled tools, to reduce manual work and improve accuracy
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting procedures, documentation, internal controls, and standard operating procedures.
• Support ERP system enhancements, reporting improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Support Treasury activities, tax filings, regulatory compliance, and related financial requirements.
• CPA preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred
• 5 + years of progressive accounting experience; real estate or multifamily property accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with RealPage or similar property management accounting software.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach — comfortable identifying problems and proposing process improvements without being asked.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and support a growing organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification
- Public accounting experience
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Real estate or multifamily property accounting experience
- Experience with RealPage or similar property management accounting software
- Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with process improvement capability
