An innovative and fast-paced manufacturing company headquartered in Denver is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. This individual will be hands-on and manage day-to-day systems for general accounting. The team is working on broader financial cleanup and general day-to-day accounting work. This is a hands-on role: the company is specifically looking for someone who will actively execute accounting work day-to-day, not operate in a purely managerial capacity. There is significant room for growth into a people-management role as the function matures and the team grows. There can be a high degree of flexibility in how the role develops over time. This individual will work in the office downtown Denver.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Understands and prepare revenue recognition on a timely basis.
- Adjusts and make recommendations on processes where necessary.
- Reviews and analyzes the organization's accounting operation.
- Prepares and analyzes financial and operational reports; prepares reports required by regulatory agencies, banks, investors, and other external parties.
- Coordinates preparation of corporate budgets and forecasts.
- Manages monthly accounting close cycle; prepares month-end financial statement.
- Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
- Analyzes, reviews, and audits overall general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable systems.
- Support ERP/accounting system usage and data integrity and help identify opportunities to improve or automate manual processes.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations as needed.
- Review and help correct historical account discrepancies as part of the company's broader financial cleanup effort.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in accounting or finance, CPA a plus.
- Five plus years working with related experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems. Advanced Excel required.
