Position Purpose:
The accounting manager will ensure the accurate accounting records for receipts and/ or disbursements within the Company. Duties include performing bookkeeping, cash reconciliation, Accounts Receivable, and month-end closing. Other accounting tasks include but not limited to maintenance of accounting and other records and preparing financial or technical reports.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
- Supervises A/R. Supports accounts for receivable staff and collection functions.
- Reviews customer aging with AR Supervisor, making adjustment entries as deemed necessary
- Month-end closing. Prepares and post General Ledger entries for all companies
- Calculates monthly accruals
- Provides support to managers regarding AR/AP issues and General Accounting reports, procedures, and internal controls.
- Supports Controller
- Supports Inventory
- Attends accounting department and other company meetings as requested.
- Assists other positions in the accounting department as needed.
- Performs any and all other duties that may be assigned.

Working Conditions:
- Normal office conditions
- Inter-island travel as needed
Work Hours:
- Must be able to work schedule determined by the Controller or EVP Finance/Admin
- Must be able to work long and irregular hours, especially during month-end closing
Equipment Use:
- Proficient in the use of a computer, excel spreadsheets, word documents, and other required software.
- Ability to use various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers and facsimile machines.
Mental and Physical Demands:
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Able to manage stressful and challenging situations.
- Able to sit at a desk to do administrative duties.
Communication Demands:
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to employees, department managers, vendors and, customers.
- Ability to communicate financial information in written and verbal format.
- Ability to write manuals, memos, policies and procedures.
- Ability to negotiate contracts
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Exposure to finance and accounting systems
- Minimum of six years related work experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory capacity
