Accounting Manager

Our Round Rock, TX business unit is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team! As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations through month-end close, financial reporting and related analysis. You will also oversee the daily and monthly accounting activities, including AR, AP, fixed assets, journal entries, and monthly reconciliations, ensuring that appropriate processes and internal controls environment are implemented and being followed. 

You will lead the Finance team (with the assistant unit controller reporting to this role) to ensure delivery of the business unit’s financial month end, year end, budget and other financial reporting requirements. Additionally, you will support the divisional finance team with required financial analysis.

Salary Information: $125,300 - $165,000 annually, plus bonus

Your Challenge:

Financial Reporting

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting and ensure compliance with relevant reporting standards of the Business Unit, specifically USGAAP, as well as federal and state laws. 

  • Report financial results to the business unit General Manager and the Group Controller for the division including month end, forecasts, budget, half year and year end external reporting.

  • Explain variances to forecasts.

  • Ensure a strong governance culture and control environment.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures appropriate to the day-to-day operation of the functions reporting to this position and see that these are documented, where practicable, and in line with Group requirements and deliver best practice. Provide corrective action, as necessary.

  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Financial Analysis

  • Implement the Group’s KPIs.

  • Ensure analysis is carried out to review the accuracy of the results.

  • Clearly articulate the financial performance of the business.

Budgeting and Expense Control

  • Assist in setting budgetary targets which support divisional financial goals.

  • Oversee the budget process, collecting the inputs and comparing actual performance to budgeted performance.

Coaching and Team Development

  • Ensure that all members of the finance team are competent to carry out their role by providing training and coaching and providing timely feedback.

  • Ensure the team is enabled to drive and support change initiatives within the group in a timely manner.

  • Constantly promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.

Other

  • Lead ad-hoc projects as requested by the business and assist with project implementation.

What You Bring:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in accounting.

  • Minimum 10 years' experience of finance and comprehensive understanding of accounting, cash flow modeling and other financial analysis techniques in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook. 

  • Strategic thinker with clear analytical skills and the ability to balance long-term and short-term priorities.

  • Commercially and financially astute.

  • Ability to challenge and influence at all levels.

  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.

  • Positive and pragmatic approach to achieving results.

  • The ability to analyze problems and recommend a course of action.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including leading a team and managing and motivating staff to achieve challenging goals.

  • Lives the “continuous improvement” philosophy; develops and adopts new ideas and concepts.

  • Ability to respond efficiently and effectively to time-critical requirements and manage multiple priorities with outstanding results and positive resolution.

  • Demonstrated success in partnering with peers and leaders; team player, with the confidence and integrity to quickly earn the confidence of peers, business leaders, team members, and teammates.

  • Experience in meeting critical deadlines and develop and apply solutions and process improvements.

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills necessary to ensure projects and plans are sound and executable.

  • Advanced degree and/or certification preferred, MBA, CPA, CMA.

  • Experience using Syteline application is an asset.
