Responsible for coordinating month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, maintaining effective internal controls, supporting financial audits, and providing financial analysis to leadership. Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established deadlines.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation prepared by accounting staff.
  • Maintain oversight of general ledger activity and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to support business decisions.
  • Lead accounting support for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with operations and business leaders to provide financial insights, evaluate operational performance, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and implement accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Analyze complex financial transactions and provide recommendations on accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Support cash management activities, working capital initiatives, and other financial planning efforts as assigned.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects, system implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor, train, and provide guidance to accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring consistent application of accounting practices.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and internal control concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage accounting processes in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial results and effectively communicate findings to management.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, accountability, and professional integrity.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and drive process improvements.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring accounting personnel preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA preferred.

Experience

  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or project leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, energy, or multi-site operations preferred.
  • Experience with financial audits, month-end close management, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls required.
