Position Overview

As a key member of the Finance team, the Accounting Manager will manage the Company’s day-to-day accounting operations and support compliance with US GAAP and government regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for executing an accurate and timely month-end close, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and supervising accounting staff in a deadline-driven environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with 5–7 years of progressive experience, including a public accounting foundation preferred, who is ready to take ownership of core accounting processes and grow into broader finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day general accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and fixed assets.
  • Execute the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals, in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and supporting schedules for review by the Corporate Controller.
  • Perform and document internal controls, and prepare audit support schedules for external audits and government regulatory examinations.
  • Apply accounting policies and procedures consistently, and recommend improvements aligned with best practices and government contract requirements.
  • Support revenue recognition workpapers, unbilled receivable analysis, and project cost reporting in coordination with the Corporate Controller.
  • Supervise, train, and develop staff accountants to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and career growth.
  • Assist in coordinating requests from external auditors, tax advisors, and government agencies as directed.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and projects, including ERP system improvements and close process automation.
Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with internal control frameworks (SOX or similar).
  • Experience in a government contracting or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven success executing a month-end close process and preparing account reconciliations and financial schedules.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Costpoint or similar) and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and explain accounting matters clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA license or active CPA candidacy preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
