Land O'Lakes is seeking talented accounting students with strong leadership potential to join our summer internship program. As an Accounting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment while contributing to meaningful projects and business initiatives. Interns are treated as valuable members of the team and are given opportunities to develop technical skills, build business acumen, and make a tangible impact. 

 

This internship is designed to provide real-world accounting experience and exposure to key accounting functions within a dynamic business environment. 

 

Responsibilities 

Accounting Interns work directly with the business unit or corporate accounting teamsResponsibilities support cost accounting or general accounting activities and may include: 

  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives 

  • Assist with month-end close processes 

  • Prepare and review account reconciliations 

  • Support journal entry preparation and processing 

  • Collaborate with accounting team members and cross-functional business partners to support key business objectives 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled as a junior, graduating in December 2027 or May 2028 

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 

  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles through coursework or related experience 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to analyze information and solve problems independently 

  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
