Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated initiative-taker to join our Accounting Team. Daily accounting work involves recording all incoming money (sales, customer payments, other income) and outgoing money (expenses, vendor payments, payroll) to keep accurate financial records.
The accounting intern will work on special projects to support the team in multiple areas, participate in intern events, and get exposure to leadership at the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with accounts receivable, cash application process. Recording money coming in, less customer trade deductions.
· Assist with accounts payable, processing vendor bills and recording expenses.
· Reconciling balance sheet accounts
· Drive continuous improvement and automation across finance/accounting processes and models for improved efficiency and accuracy
· Assist in ad hoc Finance & Accounting projects as directed
Food Safety Responsibilities:
· Follow companywide GMPs, as is expected of all personnel.
o Foundational GMPs training will be provided.
· Adhere to task specific food safety practices, where relevant.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Alignment to the JonnyPops mission to spread kindness – JonnyPops is a kindness-based company!
· Experience working in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred
· Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and people skills.
· Ability to work independently in a demanding environment with multiple projects and deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Solves difficult problems with efficient solutions by looking beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answers.
· Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment by being adaptable and resilient to change.
· Junior or Senior seeking either a 2- or 4-year accounting degree
· Preferred Majors: Accounting or Finance
· Ability to work in our Plymouth, MN office - Needing to be in Minnesota
Start date: After Memorial Day
Hourly rate: $21/hr
