Our client, a well-established maritime technology group, is seeking to recruit an Accounting Director, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality financial reporting.
Main Responsibilities:- Ensures smooth operation of the accounting department and full compliance with accounting and tax regulations
- Manages, supervises, and develops the accounting team
- Ensures accurate accounting records in accordance with Greek GAAP and IFRS
- Monitors and manage tax obligations (VAT, withholding taxes, tax filings) and guarantee timely submission of all corporate tax returns
- Manages the month-end and year-closing activities
- Reviews and signs off stand alone and group financial statements
- Proactively performs preventive quality controls and takes corrective actions when necessary
- Ensures full tax compliance, oversees internal controls and liaises effectively with tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities
- Supports ERP enhancements, processes improvements, and accounting automation initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting & Finance, or a related field
- Master’s degree in a related field will be considered an asset
- At least 10 years of proven experience in accounting, with minimum 5 years of experience in leading roles
- Experience in a Big Four firm and/or in the telecommunications industry will be a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Greek GAAP, IFRS and tax regulations
- Strong knowledge of consolidation, prior experience on multi-currency consolidation will be considered as a plus
- Professional certifications (e.g. ACCA, etc.) will be considered as a plus
- Certified A’ Class Accountant license is mandatory
- Knowledge of Softone ERP is a prerequisite
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to addressing complex financial and operational issues
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
- People management and leadership skills
Skills Required
