What You'll Do
As the Accounting Assistant, you will provide essential accounting and administrative support while helping ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the organization's financial processes. You will work closely with the Director of Accounting & Finance and serve as a key resource for payroll and accounts payable functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the Accounts Payable system and vendor files
- Process invoices, reimbursements, and accounts payable transactions
- Prepare and process checks for Greenwood Village South
- Enter resident and community payments into the billing system
- Prepare bank deposits and maintain cash tracking records
- Assist with monthly accounts payable close procedures
- Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure accurate payroll records
- Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll questions and concerns
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Human Resources regarding payroll updates and changes
- Assist with financial statement preparation and audit activities
- Learn resident billing processes and serve as backup support when needed
- Complete special projects and other accounting-related duties as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all financial records
- Promote a culture of hospitality, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working with accounting and payroll software preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
