their Kelowna office.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations,
the Accounting & Payroll Specialist is a key member of the administrative
team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the firm's
accounting and payroll functions. This role offers a diverse mix of
responsibilities, including payroll administration, trust and general
accounting, financial reporting, benefits administration, and regulatory
compliance.

- Manage day-to-day general accounting and
trust accounting transactions.
- Process payroll for salaried and hourly
employees and resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit CRA payroll
remittances, including CPP, EI, and income tax deductions.
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) and
year-end T4 and T4A filings.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to track
employee leave balances, vacation accruals, and payroll reconciliations.
- Process employee expense reimbursements.
- Manage accounts payable, including
invoice review, payment processing, and vendor communications.
- Administer employee benefits programs
and liaise with benefits providers as required.
- Maintain the general ledger and perform
account reconciliations across multiple accounts with a high volume of
transactions.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and
management reports.
- Support capital asset tracking and
management.
- Liaise with financial institutions,
service providers, and external stakeholders.
- Assist external accountants with
year-end financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Lead and coordinate the annual Law
Society trust account audit.
- Develop, document, and maintain
accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist with billing processes and
file-related accounting matters as needed.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of
accounting systems, processes, and operational efficiencies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and
payroll experience.
- CPA designation or equivalent accounting
credential preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
designation is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll
legislation, CRA remittance requirements, and year-end payroll processes.
- Experience preparing T4s, T4As, ROEs,
and payroll reconciliations.
- Experience working with accounting
software; ADP experience is considered an asset.
- Trust accounting experience, preferably
within a law firm or professional services environment, is considered a
strong asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting
principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes.
- Advanced computer skills, including
proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and
commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and
problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication skills and

Benefits
- Competitive annual salary of $70,000 -
$90,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Skills Required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and payroll experience
