EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Business or Related Field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years recent relevant experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in healthcare accounting, financial reporting, audit, reimbursement, or finance analysis.
- Experience supporting monthly and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, consolidations, eliminations, and financial statement analyses.
- Experience researching and resolving accounting and reporting issues through analysis of financial and operational data.
- Experience working with financial reporting databases, data warehouses, or business intelligence tools, including SQL, Power BI, Lawson, Workday, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with GAAP, consolidated financial statements, intercompany accounting, and healthcare financial reporting concepts.
- Experience preparing management reports, dashboards, ad hoc analyses, and executive-level reporting materials.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a complex environment.
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory reporting, and process improvement initiatives preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of accounting and/or finance
- In-depth knowledge of financial analysis and reporting methodologies
- Knowledge of data warehousing and relational database systems
Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) - Knowledge of policies, practices and procedures a plus
- Familiarity with Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) Chart of Accounts is preferred
- Familiarity with performance metrics and ability to meet identified targets a plus
- General understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and enabling technologies (e.g. contact center technologies) is beneficial
- Ability to learn new applications/software systems effectively and efficiently
- Ability to translate data analysis into suitable reports for presentation
- Ability to perform data analysis on complex data sets
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members to support continuous improvement
- Ability to process requests consistently with high level of accuracy

Pay Range is $42.41 to $63.62 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
