About the Role:

Everest Reinsurance Company (Ireland), dac (the ‘Company’ or ‘ERCID’) is part of a global reinsurance group, writing predominantly Property, Casualty & Speciality lines reinsurance in the Continental European market. ERCID is a fast-growing unit of Everest International Reinsurance and is looking to grow our Continental European business while also executing our operational transformation strategy.

This role will support the Head of Finance and perform daily accounting activities, ensuring timely recording and reporting of financial transactions, while improving internal processes.

The candidate will be part of a finance and actuarial team of 9 based in central Dublin and work closely with our Reinsurance Finance teams in New Jersey, London and Singapore. We are looking for someone who is ambitious and wants to work in a Company who will support them on the next phase of their career development.

Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Maintain and analyse technical reinsurance accounts.

  • Processing payments to clients and brokers in the technical reporting system.

  • Liaise with our Underwriting and Claims teams.

  • Responding to queries from clients and brokers.

  • Support with external audit queries

  • Month-end close reporting

  • Assisting the head of finance with quarterly Group, Board and Regulatory reporting

Qualifications:

  • A Business/Finance/Accountancy Degree

  • Candidates working experience in an accounting position, preferable in the (Re)insurance or wider Financial Services sector

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  •  Strong end user computing skills in particular MS Excel (intermediate), Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience working with accounting  and GL systems

  • Good communication skills and strong attention to detail

  • Good organisational and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

Skills Required

  • Business, Finance or Accountancy degree
  • Working experience in an accounting position (preferably in reinsurance or financial services)
  • Proficient MS Excel (intermediate)
  • Proficient Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
