Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and validate various transactions entered in Sage, E4SE, and eBO ensuring high accuracy of all entries, and compliance to established controls, accounting principles and policies.
2. In coordination with supervisors and colleagues, investigate and resolve transactional issues as necessary.
3. Prepare journal entries for adjustments or corrections.
4. Escalate issue to senior or lead for timely resolution.
5. Prepare and analyse complex bank and balance sheet reconciliations and advise the line manager of issues on the reconciliation.
6. Review basic reconciliations performed by Associate Accountants and/or Finance Assistants.
7. Prepare complex reports and be able to review recurring reports.
8. Review payroll reports and be able to monitor tax payments.
9. Create and amend vendor accounts.
10. Assist with audits by providing supporting records and documentation.
11. Assist in monthly close process to ensure deadlines are met.
12. Evaluate current accounting processes and propose improvements for operational efficiency.
13. Contribute to process improvement and assist in the implementation of office wide initiatives.
14. Ad hoc duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Management Accounting, or Banking.
2. CPA license is not required but is an advantage.
3. With 5 to 6 years work experience in Project Accounting, General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Payroll Accounting, Auditing, Accounts Payable or equivalent.
4. Experience in a Shared Services or BPO environment, an advantage
5. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software or financial reporting software is a plus.
6. SAP experience is required
7. Proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel application.
8. Ability to work with precision and manage competing deadlines and heavy workloads.
9. Ability to cope with ambiguity and change and maintain high level of professionalism when working under pressure.
10. Excellent interpersonal skills within a multi-cultural business environment.
