ROLE SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant will perform complex work assisting in the maintenance of the company’s accounting and various platforms used. This position works under the direction of the Controller and with the company’s departmental management and functional leaders to maintain sound accounting practices. As well as teaching employees the importance of stewardship and having strong financial practices in place. The Staff Accountant will analyze how the company is performing financially.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees accounts payable, receivables and other accounting-based operations
Analyzes major accounts and prepares monthly reconciliation of subsidiary accounts to general ledger. Ensuring accuracy of all general ledger accounts
Develops and implements record keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to billing, processing payments, and other accounts payable and receivable activities
Maintains adequate OBeer ERP and Toast knowledge; and overall system maintenance
Executes SOPs for purchasing, procurement, accounting, and financial controls
Identifies and resolves problems, inconsistencies and suggests appropriate corrective procedures
Trains staff on the importance of sound accounting practices, and relevant SOPs
Communicates, coordinates and trains accounting policies, practices, and procedures with employees, and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the public
Reconcile inventory and help to ensure proper inventory control processes as well as uploading counts and reviewing variances on a timely basis
Assists in time-sensitive month end close for the craft brewery as well as supporting any federal, state, local, or internal audits of company policies, procedures, or transactions
Any other tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in a business field, preferably Accounting, or related experience
2+ years of accounting experience providing information to management
Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
Experience with SAP accounting software preferred
Experience with Toast restaurant software preferred
Beer-industry experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office including familiarity and proven experience in the areas of advanced formulas and PivotTables is preferred
Must possess excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Working knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Order Processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
Possesses critical thinking skills and able to work independently or in group settings
Have a positive attitude and a continuous mindset of contributing to positive company culture
Conducts work in a sitting position primarily; however, job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and light lifting
