Job Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with tax and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and reports.
- Manage payroll and statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, etc.).
- File tax returns and ensure full compliance with local laws.
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded properly.
- Monitor cash flow and manage bank transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA/ACCA qualification (or in progress) is an added advantage.
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or Sage).
- Solid understanding of Tanzanian tax laws and compliance.
- High attention to detail and integrity.
