📍 Turners Falls, MA | 🕗 Full-Time, On-Site | 📅 Monday – Friday

The Center for Responsive Schools (CRS) is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accountant to join our Finance & Operations team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, administering payroll, and supporting budgeting and audit activities. You’ll also oversee operating expense accounts, track assets, and partner across departments to ensure financial processes run smoothly and accurately.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and post accurate journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Manage payroll in collaboration with HR and Accounts Payable.

  • Maintain asset schedules and oversee depreciation and amortization.

  • Support annual budget development, forecasts, and “Budget vs. Actual” reporting.

  • Assist with external audit preparation and year-end close.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, payroll regulations, and GAAP.

  • Contribute to process improvements and cross-training across the Finance team.

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience.

  • Knowledge of GAAP and strong analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite preferred).

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
