The Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording, processing, and reporting of the company’s financial transactions. This role supports the Chief Accountant and Finance Department in maintaining compliant, timely, and reliable accounting operations, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, tax submissions, and payment procedures.
The position is full-time, offered on a 1-year contract with the possibility of renewal.
Key Responsibilities- Record all bookkeeping transactions accurately in the ERP accounting system.
- Process and classify financial data in line with accounting standards.
- Maintain organised and up-to-date accounting records.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Execute payments and ensure proper reconciliation of Trade Receivables and Trade Payables.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and partners regarding outstanding balances and payment matters.
- Prepare and submit VAT, VIES, and any other required tax forms within statutory deadlines.
- Issue invoices through company platforms (PortaOne and Alaris).
- Ensure accuracy of invoice data and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist the Chief Accountant with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.
- Support the Finance Department with general administrative duties.
- Participate in special projects assigned by the Chief Accountant.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience in accounting or a similar role.
- Experience with ERP accounting systems is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication skills when dealing with customers and suppliers.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Responsible, proactive, and committed to quality work.
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
