Responsibilities
• Partner with team members to learn and understand the Company’s business and workflows
• Learn and effectively utilize the Company’s various systems to obtain data necessary for financial accounting, reporting and analysis
• Process monthly journal entries and perform bank and GL account reconciliations
• Assist with the design, execution and improvement of financial controls (e.g., general ledger account reconciliations) and analytical review procedures
• Research gross transactional data to analyze drivers of results and trends (e.g., premiums, commissions, losses and reserves)
• Collaborate with other departments to complete various ad hoc projects.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively either independently or within a group, and to communicate proactively and clearly both verbally and in writing with team members and Management.
Qualifications
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience (financial reporting and/or auditing a plus)
• Working knowledge of insurance concepts a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Proactive, pragmatic, detail-oriented problem-solving skills
• Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic, growth-oriented environment
