Job Description:

To become an integral part of the Finance team by reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and managing the Blackline software. The position is a senior position and requires analytical skills and comfort with a computer. This position will work closely with all other WorldStrides accountants.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Balance Sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness
  • Review Blackline software to ensure all reconciliations for the month are completed by the deadline.
  • Perform monthly maintenance on the Blackline system.
  • Work with other WorldStrides accountants to ensure uniformity of reconciliations.
  • Perform month end close duties, including journal entries
  • Participate in month-end close
  • Variance analyses as needed
  • Ad hoc excel spreadsheet preparation
  • Assist Supervisor in all assignments, making sure that all members of the Finance Department have the proper resources and support
  • Serve on committees as requested
  • Work extended hours during busy season or on special projects as needed
  • Facilitate and/or perform training of staff members as requested
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Foster communication within the department, with other departments and with management
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures to serve as an effective staff member
  • Support company policies and management decisions with a sense of urgency and professionalism
  • Seek out and participate in internal and external programs that facilitate personal and professional growth
  • Identify and discuss professional growth goals with manager
  • Write and deliver self-performance appraisal to manager on a quarterly basis

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in Accounting required
  • Three to five years of previous accounting experience required. 
  • Must have superior analytical and organizational skills.  
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Netsuite and/or Blackline software knowledge is a plus. 
  • Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills (in English). 
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks at once and meet stringent month-end deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, needs little direct supervision, and ability to work under pressure.
