GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for using advanced accounting knowledge to develop, monitor, and maintain ledger accounts and financial statements/reporting, while ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements. The role involves performing daily accounting functions, supporting accounting close processes, and conducting account reconciliations, requiring a detail-oriented individual with strong data analysis skills, a thorough understanding of accounting/finance fundamentals, and the ability to multi-task effectively. Assignments are complex in nature and broader in scope, completed under minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in the month end close process including journal entries, account reconciliation and key control documentation.
  • Assist in account fluctuation analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and maintaining routine communication as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives, including contributing to and assisting with accounting projects to improve efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  •  Work with other departments to address financial queries and support cross-functional initiatives.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 4+ Years of Finance or Accounting Experience OR 2+ years of Public Accounting Experience
  • Intermediate-level professional beginning to develop expertise in a particular job area and industry

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with competing deadlines, working effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and project management.
  • Exhibits strong business acumen, organization skills, and the ability to complete work accurately and on time.
  • Proficient in analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Curious learner and self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
