Accountant

• Computes and prepares data for journal entries, reviews general ledger and related financial statements for reasonableness.
• Review and post all General Ledger accounts activities, accounts transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation and balance sheets.
• Accumulates and analyzes information for the preparation of financial statements, ledgers, reports and taxes.
• Monthly/yearly reporting and ensure meaningful analysis for the result.
• Liaising and assisting with auditors, company secretarial and tax agents (as needed).
• Assist with preparation of local treasury related matters.
• Assist with the preparation of other reports provided to management.
• Assist with year-end audits.
• Undertake ad hoc projects as required.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and year end closing of accounts, review of accounts, interco reporting and balance sheet analysis to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting of balance sheet.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure financial information is recorded and communicated in a timely and precise manner.
• Maintenance of the general ledgers, including posting of journals, maintenance and preparation of external compliance submissions (Bank Negara, MIDA etc)
• Preparation of monthly reconciliation, analysis of fluctuations of accounts and month end Balance Sheet review
• Preparation of withholding tax payment, maintaining withholding tax receipts and other tax support activities to assist corporate tax to ensure timely tax filling/ compliance.
• Systems and process implementation for accounting matters
• Assist with liaising with auditors for year-end audits and compliance.
• Support local treasury related matters.
• Undertake ad hoc projects as required.

Job Qualification:

• More than 2  years of professional finance or accounting experience, with experiences in a manufacturing finance role and knowledge of SAP and MS Excel.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance/ACCA/CIMA is required.
• Solid knowledge of Financial accounting and understand the basic concepts of financial accounting and analysis as well as good understanding of internal controls.
• Knowledge of SOX & US GAAP will be added advantage.
