Position Summary
Invivyd is seeking a motivated, proactive and energetic Accountant/Sr. Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will primarily be responsible for month end close activities and SEC reporting activities. This individual will also work cross-functionally to support our R&D departments, including operational activities, such as purchase order and invoice reviews, and month end close activities, such as journal entries and account reconciliations. This role adheres to tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. This role provides an opportunity for professional growth as Invivyd continues to mature and evolve.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy of accounting records in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), company policies and procedures
- Perform designated areas of the month end close process, including journal entry and account reconciliation preparation
- Develop monthly R&D accruals, including contacting vendors for estimates and working cross-functionally with the R&D departments for review
- Assist with the preparation of SEC financial filings (i.e. Form 10-K, Form 10-Q) and other filings
- Update financial statements, footnotes, and the MD&A using Active Disclosure software
- Assist with the quarterly financial review and year-end financial audit process, including internal control testing
- Support the development and maintenance of an effective system of internal controls and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
- Review current processes and procedures and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and timeliness of the month end close and financial reporting
- Support the accounting/finance team with various analyses and ad hoc projects
- Assist with special projects, such as system implementations and business process improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
- CPA license (preferred)
- 3+ years of accounting or finance experience
- pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is strongly preferred
- background in public accounting is a plus
- preferably in a SOX compliant company
- Experience working with NetSuite, FloQast and ActiveDisclosure is a plus
- Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, including U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and financial reporting processes
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others
- Ability to prioritize a varying degree of tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional skepticism
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, provide suggestions and drive positive change
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical abilities with a strong desire to make a positive impact
