Maintain accurate NGO accounts, including income, grants, donations, and project expenditures. Prepare financial statements and donor reports, manage statutory payments and filings, coordinate internal and statutory audits, support donor audits, maintain audit-ready documentation, and liaise with program teams on financial inputs, funding needs, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

·       Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with accounting standards and NGO-specific requirements

·       Ensure timely accounting of income, grants, donations, and project expenditures

·       Assist in preparation of Prepare financial statements and reports for donors, management, and statutory authorities

·       Ensure timely payment of statutory dues (TDS, PF, ESI, GST if applicable) and filing of returns

·       Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors and provide necessary documentation

·       Support donor audits 

·       Maintain documentation and ensure audit-ready records at all times

·       Liaise with program teams for financial inputs, fund requirements, and compliance checks

 



Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies

·       Understanding of NGO financial operations and compliance

.      Good knowledge in TDS & GST ( to ensure timely payments and filing of returns)

·       Working knowledge of accounting software (Tally,  etc.)

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools

·       High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy

·       Good communication skills for donor and team coordination

·       Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
