This is a remote position.
The Senior Accountant will develop and lead all aspects of the accounting and reporting process. A successful candidate will ideally have 3-5 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience in a high business growth environment. This role is expected to be dynamic and will require some flexibility in terms of day-to-day operational support and thrives in fast paced environment, working closely with the company’s CEO.
- Develop and maintain necessary accounting policies and systems and building an accounting department as the company grows
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Ensure a smooth audit process by creating and maintaining internal controls, establishing, and maintaining immaculate record keeping, managing the audit process
- Coordinate VAT and Zakat reporting and preparation of tax returns with outside tax accountants
- Assist in planning, budgeting, and business performance monitoring
- Represent the company externally, as necessary, particularly with banks, vendors, and clients, as needed to support the accounting and reporting functions
- Process Accounts payable
- Process accounts receivable and invoice clients
- Prepare bank deposits
- Ensure accuracy in the general ledger and a timely monthly closing of the books
- Process employee time sheets and run payroll through our payroll system
- Track and report sales commissions
- Reconcile bank, vendor, and client accounts and balances
- Monitor cash levels and report on anticipated shortages/surpluses
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA, ACCA, or CMA qualification preferred
- 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, private/public mix or Big 4 a plus
- Strong acumen for debits and credits and talent for documenting your work
- Versatile accounting system experience (SMACC, Dafater, Qoyod, Netsuite, QuickBooks, Zoho, Xero, etc.)
- Self-sufficient and solid sense of ownership for your duties
- Proactive and solid time management skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Willing to adapt and learn industry specific KPIs and metrics
Skills Required
