We're searching for an Accountant to join Remitly's Order to Cash (OTC) Accounting team, reporting to the Manager of OTC Accounting. You will contribute to the company's financial statements by supporting the month-end close process and ensuring accurate reporting.
You Will:
Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance accounting systems, reporting infrastructure, and business processes
Leverage automation and AI tools to streamline close activities and improve documentation and reporting efficiency
Support the month-end close process by creating and booking journal entries, analyzing trends, variances, and financial system outputs
Collaborate with business partners to ensure accurate accounting for monthly accruals and new business initiatives
Develop an understanding of upstream data flows to ensure financial transaction data transfers accurately into the ledger
Perform daily/monthly reconciliations to identify and resolve unmatched transactions or exceptions
Ensure internal controls and procedures are documented and followed in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
Support ad hoc financial and audit requests and special projects as assigned
You Have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 1+ years of experience
CPA or public accounting experience preferred
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
Exposure to or interest in process improvement and accounting policies
Experience in NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus
Experience analyzing large data sets using tools such as Excel and Alteryx
