Position/Title: Vice President, Accounting

Position
The successful candidate will manage and/or assist with all finance, accounting, tax, treasury and reporting activities for Pretium's first open-ended residential credit fund. This vehicle will primarily invest in non-performing and re-performing mortgage loans. The candidate must have a strong background in investor reporting functions for an open-ended fund. Working knowledge around the accounting and operations for residential mortgage loans and REO is preferred but not required. The VP will play a critical role in the quarterly and annual financial statement close process, which includes working side-by-side with the fund administrator. The VP will be responsible for maintaining a strong internal control environment and will also be responsible for ensuring that all critical processes are conducted in accordance with documented policies and procedures. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and is comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment. This position will provide exposure to many different areas of the business, including close interaction with multiple third-party vendors and financing partners, and has the potential for responsibilities to expand quickly. This position will report to a Director on the Finance team and is based in the Firm’s Minneapolis, MN office.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a lead role in the production of quarterly and annual financial statements, including partner capital statements.
- Manage and assist the auditors and fund administrator through the quarterly financial statement preparation and annual audit.
- Oversee reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Oversee the monthly financing and compliance reporting.
- Prepare monthly portfolio subledgers (investments and financing) for the fund.
- Prepare monthly reporting packages to the PM and senior management.
- Assist with the quarterly and annual tax work.
- Assist with ad hoc investor questions and periodic investor reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent business experience.
- Accounting experience of 6-8 years.
- Self-starter comfortable operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with evolving roles and responsibilities.
- Preference will be given to candidates with the CPA, CMA, or MBA degree.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with relevant residential mortgage loan accounting and operations experience.
- Deep experience with open-ended private equity funds and the associated accounting and investor reporting.
- Creates, builds, and maintains relationships.
- Exceptional analytical skills with an ability to solve problems and adapt to change.
- Strong communication and project management skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously and work in a time-sensitive deadline driven environment.
- Familiarity with computer programming and Microsoft excel.
- Proactive in developing new ideas and ability to enhance current methods and tools.
