Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to provide statutory accounting support for the various operations under the responsibility of the Eastern Hemisphere Accounting Hub requiring interaction with Tax and External Auditors. Such a role may be performed at level I or level II depending on experience, level of autonomy and expectation.- Individual operating at level I can be assisted/guided by those at level II.
- Level I will be given less challenging jurisdictions from an audit and allocation perspective.
- Level I accountant may provide support to level II accountants or their superiors, as required.
Job Description
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the audit file preparation ensuring accounting and reporting for assigned/designated legal entities are completed in compliance with local GAAP/IFRS for external and statutory reporting purposes
- Interact with external auditors during the audit of statutory accounts
- To prepare information for the tax department to support annual tax filings
- Assist with certain local tax filings and reconciliations e.g. VAT
- To perform monthly/quarterly accounting allocations in the management books
- To perform a monthly review of management accounting entries to ensure compliance with legal and statutory reporting structure
- To perform online balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis
- Assist in any internal finance related audit requests as required
- Assist with submission of statistical returns or filing documents as required by local government authorities
- To record monthly fixed asset entries in the statutory books
- Ad-hoc miscellaneous duties as assigned to ensure adequate support to designated shared service support operations
Education
- Minimum required: Some College, Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent.
- Preferred level: Bachelor's Degree or Relevant numeracy related degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum required: Relevant accounting experience is beneficial
- Preferred level: Accounting placement / internship
Skills
- Minimum required: Microsoft Office, Book-keeping knowledge
- Preferred level: Strong excel skills
