Supervises offshore maintenance, testing, repair, and operation of subsea BOP, riser, wellhead, diverter, and electro-hydraulic control systems. Directs crews during BOP and riser deployment, ensures HSE and operational discipline compliance, maintains equipment records and spares, manages permits and isolations, supports emergency response, and mentors subsea personnel.

Supervise and coordinate maintenance, repair, and safe operation of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, power generation, cooling, lubrication, fuel, ballast, thruster, pump, and valve systems aboard an offshore drilling rig. The role manages permits, inspections, inventory, regulatory compliance, HSE processes, emergency response, maintenance records, crew training, and personnel development while supporting the First Engineer.

Supervises managed pressure drilling operations on offshore floating drilling vessels, including MPD equipment maintenance, well-control calculations, procedures, permits, inspections, drills, and operational readiness. Leads MPD personnel, coordinates third-party providers and drilling crews, ensures compliance with safety and operational discipline requirements, maintains equipment and inventory records, supports training and competency development, and communicates operational progress and risks to drilling leadership.

Provides emergency medical and primary first aid care to rig personnel, maintains the onboard hospital, medical supplies, equipment, medications, and confidential records. Conducts health, hygiene, safety, and environmental inspections; supports emergency drills, safety training, evacuations, and occupational health activities. Coordinates with shore-based medical facilities and advises supervisors on medical, occupational health, and hygiene matters. Norway-specific duties include work environment surveys, health examinations, water testing, and medication reviews.

Supervise offshore rig maintenance and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, power generation, propulsion, ballast, cooling, lubrication, and fuel systems. Ensure safe operations, regulatory compliance, permit-to-work controls, preventive maintenance, accurate records, equipment readiness, spare-part availability, and emergency preparedness. Lead, coach, and develop maintenance personnel while coordinating with marine teams, vendors, field support, regulators, and company leadership.

Supports the Chief Mate and Master in safe offshore marine operations. Supervises deck and marine crews, manages lifting activities, monitors rig stability, prepares stability reports, oversees liquid and bulk-material transfers, assists with ballast and navigation operations, maintains marine and emergency equipment, and ensures compliance with HSE, operational discipline, and regulatory requirements. Mentors crew members, participates in emergency drills, and reports equipment defects and operational anomalies.

Performs cargo handling, cleaning, painting, equipment maintenance, safety-system inspections, and deck operations on an offshore drilling rig. Operates survival craft, rescue boats, watertight equipment, hoists, and cargo-handling gear; supports helicopter, rig move, anchor handling, mooring, and supply-vessel activities. Participates in emergency drills, safety meetings, risk-management processes, and HSE procedures. Requires an unlimited Able Seafarer credential, applicable STCW certification, medical documentation, and Norway-specific qualifications where applicable.

Operate, maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) equipment and IRJ systems offshore. Lead rig-up/operational procedures, supervise inspections, train crew, document deployments and downtime in AIM, and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory (API) and OEM procedures.

Assist in marine operations, navigation, and maintenance tasks on the rig. Promote safety and compliance with regulations while mentoring crew.

Assist in maintaining and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment onboard the vessel, while supervising motor operators and training crew members.

Assist the Driller in operating and supervising drilling and mud-circulating equipment, maintain logs and inventory, enforce HSE and operational discipline, participate in well control and emergency response, mentor crew members, and support maintenance, rig moves, and drilling operations per company procedures and regulatory requirements.
