Under general direction, performs a variety of general accounting related functions for Children's Hospital and Health System entities in the areas of general ledger maintenance, detailed account analysis and financial statement preparation in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requires the knowledge and understanding of recognized principles, theories and techniques of accounting and knowledge of accounting information systems and procedures acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Five years of progressively responsible work experience with a minimum of three years direct accounting experience.

Experience working with grants in non-profit strongly preferred

Healthcare accounting experience preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of EXCEL applications in a windows environment and computerized financial reports.

Analytical ability to find solutions to accounting problems.

Excellent organizational skills and a high level of accuracy to independently prioritize and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.

Good interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with coworkers in the finance department, internal customers, and external funding agencies.

Ability to detect errors and maintain the highest level of confidentiality when collecting and reporting data.
