Position Overview:
This Senior Cost Analyst role is ideal for a naturally curious, analytically minded professional who enjoys digging into issues, identifying root causes, and turning findings into practical solutions. Supporting US Manufacturing, this position plays an important role in ensuring inventory and cost accounting processes are accurate, complete, and timely across a complex operating environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with limited direction, able to navigate ambiguity, and confident taking initiative to investigate issues independently while collaborating with key partners when needed. This role is well suited for someone who brings strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to improving processes, controls, and financial outcomes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Power BI and bring experience with data analytics tools such as Dataiku and Alteryx.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and implement elements of the inventory control environment as required and to guarantee cost accounting numbers are reported accurately, completely, and timely for any transaction ran by any of our internal manufacturing and product development sites in the US.
- Ensure consistency across all entities and work closely with the corporate controlling team in New Jersey to ensure compliance with group policies
Monitor the internal control results and report to the leadership team on risk profiles and tactics aiming to safeguard inventory assets.
Support the cost accounting team and the implementation of inventory cost absorption rates for operational work centers and precious metal types. When rate updates are required, ensure optimal absorption of production costs into the finished product.
- Monitor aged work orders and work with operations teams on site to resolve or identify risk for obsolescence. Support other inventory reduction initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 -8 years of experience in a financial data and or cost analyst role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountant or equivalent experience
- Proven knowledge on working with ERP systems like JDE, SAP or similar
- Proven technical skills to set up and leverage IT tools like Power BI, Dataiku, Alteryx, MS Excel
- Proven soft skills to work with people from different groups within an organization
- Project management experience a plus
