What you'll be doing
Working closely with the Accounting Manager and wider Finance team, you'll support the delivery of accurate and timely accounting operations across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions
- Collaborating closely with Accounting and Controlling colleagues to maintain high-quality financial reporting
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
- Communicating with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting-related matters
- Liaising with auditors, tax advisors and regulatory authorities as required
- Working cross-functionally with colleagues across the business
- Identifying opportunities to improve, automate and digitalise accounting processes
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a proactive and improvement-focused mindset.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience in a corporate accounting environment
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accounting principles and VAT requirements
- Knowledge of relevant accounting and tax regulations
- English language skills sufficient for day-to-day business communication, particularly written communication
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, especially during busy reporting periods
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
- Experience working with ERP systems or the ability to learn new accounting systems quickly
- A genuine interest in improving processes through automation and digitalisation
It would be great if you also have
- Experience working within an international organisation
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Exposure to financial reporting and/or controlling activities
- An interest in the animal health sector and a passion for working in a business connected to animals
