We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our MENA Finance Team, focusing primarily on finance matters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This role is crucial for supporting general accounting and finance administration for our regional operations.
Key responsibilities and deliverables
Assist with billing and bill preparation, including the generation of WIP reports and final invoices using the government-mandated e-invoicing system.
Monitor debtors and proactively follow up on outstanding payments.
Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with KSA tax regulations.
Assist in preparing tax returns for review and submission to KSA tax authorities, including handling related queries.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes in accordance with firm policies and local regulatory requirements.
Maintain compliance with KSA corporate taxes (including Zakat, withholding tax, VAT, and GOSI payroll taxes) and social insurance regulations.
Monitor regulatory quotas and manage all required regulatory filings, escalating issues where necessary.
Coordinate regulatory, tax, and accounting requirements related to the Regional Headquarters (RHQ) entity; liaise with KSA Ministry of Investment as needed.
Manage corporate bank accounts for KSA entities in alignment with domestic payment systems and approval protocols.
Maintain accuracy of client portals and oversee e-invoicing processes for the KSA business.
Prepare bank and vendor reconciliations, interoffice transaction entries, and petty cash accounting.
Work collaboratively with internal accounts teams to process invoices, expense claims, and billing adjustments as per internal controls and engagement terms.
Act as a point of contact and coordinator for auditors, VAT consultants, and tax authorities, escalating queries where needed.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial records for audits, adhering to firm financial controls, approval workflows, and confidentiality standards.
Provide support to the wider MENA finance operations team and participate in ad hoc projects, financial analyses, and data requests as assigned.
Key requirements (Communication/skills/experience)
Essential
Knowledge and familiarity with finance operational processes in KSA
Business-fluent English language skills
Accounting degree or equivalent qualification
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Friendly and helpful approach to customer service
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize workload and act on own initiative
Capable of working under tight deadlines and as part of a team
Flexible, proactive attitude; maintains professionalism under pressure
Excellent IT skills, especially Excel and including the use of AI tools
Proficient in producing high-quality Word and PowerPoint documents
Skilled in creating, manipulating, and analysing Excel spreadsheets
Willingness to broaden experience and continuously develop skills
Readiness to work overtime and outside normal hours as required
Desirable
Experience working in a professional services environment in KSA
Competency in Arabic language is an advantage
Member of SOCPA (Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants)
