More about this role

The candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks and ensure accurate financial reporting. Under broad supervision, reconciles and adjusts various general ledger accounts and/or bank statements. May perform moderately complex analysis of performance results. Compiles, consolidates, and analyzes accounting and finance information for the production of financial statements and reports. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of product standard costs including variance and scrap reporting
  • Maintenance of the cycle counts for inventory program
  • Back up for creating/ reviewing of Shipping Invoices to pack slips to ensure accuracy & Report Sales on Daily Report
  • Maintenance of vendor and travelers’ insurance records
  • Processing of Benefit Billing and Reconciliations
  • Payroll Process, Review of payroll prior to submission to ADP
  • Recording of Cash Receipts into ERP System
  • Invoicing for Consignment Sales
  • Processing of Credit Memos
  • Daily, weekly & Monthly reporting of direct & indirect labor
  • Accuracy of account reconciliations related to job duties
  • Daily assistance for internal & external customers
  • Month End Reports, Journal Entries & Reconciliations & Variance Analysis
  • Responsible for accurate Monthly & Quarterly Reporting for internal & external customers
  • Other accounting duties as needed including back up for other accounting staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Good Verbal and written communication skills
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • A solid understanding of Dual Entry Accounting
  • Experience with ADP
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in general accounting
  • Must be able to work out of one of our three manufacturing locations: Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Boyne City, MI; Angola, IN
