Position Summary:
Penske Transportation Solutions is seeking an Accountant II with a passion for business operations to join our team in Reading, PA. This position will be responsible for monthly accounting activities including preparing journal entries, conducting month-end analytics, and completing account reconciliations. The Accountant II is a result-driven professional who collaborates effectively with team members in a fast-paced environment.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate, complete, and timely journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement workpapers, and special projects with adequate support
- Apply intermediate GAAP knowledge and follow established polices and procedures
- Prepare and monitor metrics within assigned areas
- Prepare monthly P&L variance analysis
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Work with International teams to review monthly account reconciliations and resolve outstanding issues timely
- Other projects and ad hoc requests assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years experience in the field of accounting required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft products, specifically Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders
- Strong problem solving, judgment, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and self-prioritize work.
- Requirements include willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
