Overview

The Accountant II will be responsible for specific tasks performed in finance which include general ledger, reinsurance, account analysis, and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Create recurring journal entries based on standard monthly support as well as be point person for any ad-hoc entries
  • Assist in the preparation of month end reports to substantiate and document account balances
  • Prepare reinsurance billings, process resulting reinsurance journal entries and complete reinsurance tables and schedules
  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate unusual items
  • Generate GL data requests
  • Assist in the timely preparation of the statutory financial statement and state compliance filings
  • Assist with gathering information for internal and external audit requests
  • Work closely with team members to coordinate monthly and quarterly close processes
  • Ad-hoc projects as requested
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Excellent PC skills, with a strong background in Microsoft Excel
  • A quick learner, with an ability to be flexible and have demonstrated skills to work effectively independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in Oracle, Property/Casualty insurance industry, insurance accounting, or IFRS accounting a plus

Skills Required
