The Accountant I is responsible for performing general accounting activities requiring a general understanding of business processes and the ability to investigate and explain variances in business results from period to period. The role will participate in the month end financial statement closing process, the bi-weekly forecast process and the annual budget.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform general accounting activities requiring general insight and depth of understanding including preparing journal entries, reconciling account balances, review of invoices for appropriate classification and other operational duties, as well as executing well-defined steps in accounting analysis, forecasting and budgeting activities
- Conducts pertinent investigation of basic accounts involved; understands and communicates causes of variances between actual, forecasted, budgeted and last year results
- Support process and productivity improvements within Accounting. Leverage existing systems and new solutions such as Alteryx and UI Path
- Ad-hoc projects and analysis as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- One to three years of experience
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- ERP general ledger experience, PeopleSoft
