The Staff Accountant, Development Accounting will be responsible for supporting the Development Team with the accounting oversight of all development-related reporting, data management, and project monitoring. This position will be exposed to all facets of Industrial Real Estate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews trial balance/general ledgers monthly including proper review of development assets, liabilities, property expenses and rental income

Prepares and records journal entries as needed and maintains monthly workpapers to facilitate the timely completion of the monthly close process

Sets up appropriate jobs and contracts for development and lease transaction costs

Collects, vest and stores contract supporting documentation required for Yardi contract setup

Prepares development invoices for payment and ensures audit-required documentation is attached

Interfaces with vendors and third-party managers regarding all matters related to the processing of development invoices

Processes equity draws and obtains/attaches in Yardi all necessary information for payment

Prepares development and land project draws and attends monthly draw meetings

Assists in obtaining lender-specific information from vendors or development management team to ensure timely loan draw process

Ensures timely billing of tenant improvement work to tenants and posting in Yardi

Coordinates receipt of payment with release of funds to vendor

Maintains development data in development database and assist in monthly development reporting

Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or BS in Accounting or Finance

1-2 years experience in the construction or real estate industry preferred

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; familiarity with Yardi also a plus

Ability to work in a collaborative and term oriented environment

Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced work environment
