Responsibilities
- Develop technical
skills and knowledge across Audit and Assurance, Bookkeeping, Compilation
Engagements, Accounting, and Corporate Tax.
- Support the
preparation and review of financial statements, working papers, schedules, and
related engagement documentation.
- Assist with audit
and assurance engagements by performing assigned testing, documentation,
financial analysis, and follow-up procedures.
- Perform bookkeeping
activities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general
ledgers, reconciling accounts, and supporting period-end close activities.
- Prepare Canadian T2
corporate tax returns and other related tax filings, where applicable.
- Manage multiple
client files and assignments simultaneously while meeting established timelines
and quality standards.
- Summarize clients’
current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance
sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports.
- Review, investigate,
and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents,
and reports.
- Establish charts of
accounts and prepare journal entries for posting to accounts.
- Categorize financial
data for use in data analytics and prepare related client deliverables.
- Build competencies
in data analytics reporting and identify opportunities for relevant clients
advisory services.
- Prepare
correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations
outlining engagement findings, facts, and key highlights.
- Communicate
professionally with French-speaking clients, engagement teams, and internal
stakeholders.
- Collaborate with
client engagement teams and contribute to building effective working
relationships with client contacts.
- Contribute to
identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and technologies and
collaborate with other internal teams on solutions.
Requirements
Essential Skills
• French-language
proficiency at B2 or C1 level, supported by certification from a recognized
institution.
• Strong written and
verbal communication skills in French and English.
• Ability to learn and
adapt to new technologies, tools, processes, and software.
• Strong analytical,
numerical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
• Ability to organize
and manage multiple assignments within established timelines.
• Customer service
and/or client service orientation.
• Ability to

• Willingness to

Technical Skills
• Foundational
understanding of accounting, auditing, taxation, bookkeeping, and financial
reporting principles.
• Understanding of
balance sheets, profit and loss statements, general ledgers, charts of
accounts, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Exposure to
taxation, tax return preparation, audit, bookkeeping, accounting, or financial
reporting is preferred.
• Experience working
with accounting, audit, bookkeeping, or tax software will be an advantage.
• Basic understanding
of business, accounting, management, and professional services principles.
• Basic understanding
of data analytics and its application within accounting and financial
reporting.
• Previous internship
or work experience in accounting, audit, bookkeeping, finance, or
taxation-related environment will be considered an asset.
• Experience with
Canadian accounting, audit, bookkeeping, or taxation processes, advantageous
but not mandatory.
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business
Administration, or a related discipline.
• Candidates pursuing
or holding professional accounting qualifications may also be considered.
