Job Description:
This position is responsible for overseeing a system-wide accounting process or has accounting responsibilities for programs with significant dollars or complex accounting requirements.
This position may provide support to a system-wide function.
- Provides expertise and oversight for a system-wide accounting process.
- Represents accounting services in process improvement discussions with programmers, business applications, developers, and vendors.
- Accounting technical resource for assigned area of expertise to senior accounting services personnel and other internal and external customers.
- May be responsible for training, directing, and reviewing others working within the same accounting function.
- Provides expertise in applying generally accepted accounting principles to accounting function.
- Directs and oversees the month-end close process of a complex accounting function.
- Reviews and recommends modifications to related accounting systems and procedures.
- May be a project lead or perform supervisory functions.
- May assist in preparing year-end financial statement disclosures required for the annual audit.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, with five years of professional accounting experience. - Or - Master's degree with three years of experience. (Master of Business Administration or Master of Accountancy). Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
- Demonstrated detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated self-motivated with the ability to work with limited direct supervision.
- Experience in a role requiring effective project management skills, a high degree of accuracy, and sound decision making with limited supervision.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications.
- Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant
- Working knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare's general ledger, information systems, and financial processes.
Physical Requirements:
- Interact with others, requiring the ability to communicate information.
- Operate computers and other office equipment, requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
- See and read computer monitors and documents.
- Remain standing or sitting for long periods of time, to perform work on a computer, telephone or other office equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$36.22 - $57.04
