Strategic Risk Solutions Inc (SRS), the world’s largest independent insurance company manager, is growing and looking for an accounting professional to join its servicing team.
The successful candidates will have a CPA (or equivalent) and will work in a team to manage the financial and regulatory affairs of a portfolio of captive insurance companies. This position will be based out of Halifax, NS with SRS Managers (Canada) Limited and will be predominantly remote.Responsibilities and Duties

  • Preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliations, and regulatory filings for a portfolio of captive insurance clients.
  • Review and update insurance documentation and maintain up to date corporate records.
  • Produce reports as may be required by the Company.
  • Consistently and promptly respond to client and inter-office requests.
  • Handle verbal and written client and regulatory communications.
  • Manage relationships with clients’ service providers.
  • Preparing for, presenting in and attending client Board of Director meetings.
  • Provide support as may be necessary to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the Company and portfolio of client accounts.

Attributes and Skills

  • Accounting Designation required
  • Insurance accounting experience preferred
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or on individually assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment where exceptional attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills are essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as circumstances require
