As an Account Technologist within Microsoft's Public Sector organization, you will serve as the strategic technical advisor for a portfolio of state and local government customers across Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland. Combining deep technical expertise with an understanding of public sector priorities and challenges, and working alongside customers, partners, and Microsoft teams, you will help define long-term technology strategies, build scalable enterprise architectures, and guide organizations through complex digital transformation journeys. You will engage with CIOs, Chief Digital Officers, Enterprise Architects, and technology leaders to translate business priorities into actionable technology roadmaps that drive measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities
Develop innovative technology strategies and trusted-advisor relationships with state and local government customers across Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz, and Saarland.
Act as the customer's strategic technical advisor and serve as the Voice of the Customer within Microsoft.
Design and build enterprise architectures that support long-term modernization and digital transformation objectives.
Create and execute mid- and long-term technology roadmaps across cloud, data and AI, security, and modern workplace solutions.
Lead strategic technical discussions with CIOs, Chief Digital Officers, Enterprise Architects, and executive stakeholders.
Orchestrate virtual and cross-functional teams across sales, consulting, technical specialists, customer success, and partner organizations.
Translate customer business priorities into scalable technology architectures and transformation programs, driving technical strategy and demand generation that positions Microsoft solutions as enablers of customer success.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND several years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience;
OR equivalent experience.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
Experience developing technology strategies and architecture recommendations for large organizations.
Communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Business fluency in both Germany and English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with state governments, municipalities, public agencies, or other public sector organizations.
Understanding of public sector operating models, governance structures, and decision-making processes.
Knowledge of public budgeting and funding processes (Haushaltsrecht) and familiarity with public procurement regulations and tendering procedures (Vergaberecht).
Proven experience developing and implementing enterprise architectures in large and complex organizations, ideally spanning multiple agencies, specialist applications, and platforms.
Demonstrated success leading and orchestrating virtual, cross-functional teams.
Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation and modernization initiatives.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas: cloud computing, cybersecurity, data and AI, modern workplace, or infrastructure modernization.
Several years of experience in a relevant customer industry or in using technology to drive customer business outcomes.
Residence within the territory, or a connection to Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz, or Saarland, combined with a willingness to travel regularly to customer locations.
In line with our Flexible Work approach, for roles at Microsoft Germany, we recommend spending at least two days per week in the office or at the customer site.
Account Technology IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 81,500.00 - € 139,200.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
