Colonial Terminals, Inc. (CTI) is an industry leader in handling and storing liquid and dry bulk products. We own and operate the largest, independent, liquid and dry bulk storage facilities with breakbulk capability in the Southeastern United States.

Colonial Terminals began operations in 1934 with the construction of a 21-acre, deep-water terminal located on the Savannah River to serve the burgeoning import and export, petroleum storage market. Today, Colonial Terminals owns and operates the largest, independent, liquid and dry bulk storage facilities with breakbulk capability in the Southeastern United States.

The Account Representative reports to the Terminal Manager and will be the customer service representative and point of contact for customers leasing liquid storage tanks.

  • Provide excellent customer service for customers leasing liquid storage tanks
  • Work directly with the storage customers to facilitate product movement orders via vessel, rail, truck, ISO container, or tank-to-tank transfer
  • Publish inventory reports and prepare customer's monthly schedule of charges for invoicing
  • Administer customer's storage agreement and ensure accurate and thorough revenue capture based on contract parameters
  • Back-up the Dispatch window, as needed, to assist truck drivers in use of the scale, rack locations, issuing loading tickets/shipping paperwork/security seals, etc.
  • Represent the storage customer's needs and best interests to internal Operations personnel, third party carriers, vessel agents, auditors, and surveying companies
  • Other Terminal management duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma required
  • 3-5 years' experience preferred
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic office environment without sacrificing focus, attention to detail, and/or accuracy
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to be flexible with daily routines, work overtime as needed, and monitor the Terminal's 24-hour on-call phone
  • Possess a strong work ethic, a team player attitude, good organization skills, and a commitment to safety
  • Basic understanding of marine terminal operations, logistics, warehousing, shipping paperwork, inventory reporting, etc. preferred
  • Follow established procedures, recognize errors, and anticipate problems before they occur
  • Have the fortitude to be "the face of the customer" and proactively act on customer issues by working with internal personnel and third parties to solve problems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and ability to use various Terminal Management Software applications
  • Intermediate computer and math skills required
