We are currently looking for an Account Manager in our Automotive Systems Division to support business in North America with a major Detroit-based OEM.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities include managing our commercial relationships with automotive customers, assuring customers that their business matters, that you want to be responsive to them and you seek win-win outcomes
- Necessary skills include sales acumen, creative thinking, savvy negotiating, integrity in price development, diligent forecasting & planning, attentive contract management, and ability to provide product development support, marketing support, and factory delivery support.
- In this role, you work as part of a cross-functional local team to maintain a substantial portfolio of existing business.
- Together with other members of the customer team, you develop and execute an account strategy that brings profitable and sustainable growth.
- As part of the team, you act as the voice of the customer within the organization and you represent the interests of Bose at the customer with courtesy, respect, and professionalism.
- You build strong and lasting relationships with key players in various departments across the customer account.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; MBA is preferred but not a requirement
- At least 3-5 years experience in account management, business development or product planning in the automotive industry interfacing with OEM customers
- Ability to develop strong relationships, both internally and externally; customer service mentality always looking for win-win solutions
- Responsive to the customer; able to work to deadlines, both external and internal
- Experience in selling high-tech products is desirable; hardware or software; affinity for technology
- Willingness to partner closely and learn from Bose engineers to a level that instils confidence among customer engineering and purchasing personnel
- Results oriented and structured individual, willing to take the initiative and provide internal leadership to the organization; dependable; knowledgeable to answer questions and give direction; able to engender confidence and elicit cooperation
- Strengths include excellent communication and negotiation skills, problem solving and strategic thinking
- Occasional domestic travel
