Job Description

The Account Manager position in a few words

The Account Manager role is responsible for developing Japan accounts primarily in the Consumer Electronics industry. This role blends complex technical problems, a consultative solution-based selling culture and exposure to world-renowned technology organizations we proudly call our customers. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in engineering fields such as mechanical, automation, electrical, or electronics, and a proven ability to develop and implement sales strategies for complex technical solutions. This highly visible, cross-functional role is a great opportunity to showcase your skills within all departments of Averna and across the globe.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify/develop prospect accounts and maintain/grow existing accounts.
  • Master the customer need and position Averna to solve mission critical problems.
  • Maintain a sales funnel (Salesforce) and manage sales forecasts using CRM.
  • Define account strategies and execute sales plan
  • Manage opportunities by leveraging strong relationships you build with Averna’s world-class pre-sales teams including Solution Architects and Proposal Writers.
  • Build/execute account plans through collaboration with internal teams (Marketing, Operations, etc.) .                                                   

Qualifications

Qualification and required work experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, or other related technical fields
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in selling custom automation solutions for manufacturing industry
  • Bilingual: Japanese (native) and English (business level) communication skills 

Technical/Functional Competency:

  • Technical understanding of automation, test & measurement equipment concepts
  • A solid understanding of the engineering design and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrable experience in consultative technology solution selling capital equipment to OEMs
  • Experience in selling into big accounts
  • Track record of annual sales in the millions/ year range
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with the National Instruments toolset a plus
  • PLC Beckhoff based automation selling a plus
  • Mobility: Travel up to 50% of the time (travel domestically and internationally as needed)
