As our next Account Manager Tandem Travel, you’ll play a key role in strengthening customer relationships, unlocking growth opportunities and delivering outstanding travel management solutions across a portfolio of corporate and government customers. 

Tandem Travel is Air New Zealand’s dedicated travel management business, helping organisations navigate complex travel needs with confidence. In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of strategically important customers, working closely with stakeholders to understand their objectives, optimise travel programmes and deliver measurable business outcomes. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of customers across SME, corporate and government segments, delivering against revenue, retention and growth objectives 
  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities, including opportunities across SMEs, corporate customers, and government organisations 
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across customer organisations, from travel coordinators through to senior decision-makers 
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that strengthen long-term partnerships and increase customer value 
  • Analyse travel data and performance trends to provide insights that support cost control, traveller experience and programme effectiveness 
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, improve programme adoption and increase share of wallet across customer accounts 
  • Partner with internal teams to deliver exceptional service, resolve issues proactively and drive continuous improvement 
  • Lead customer reviews, business updates and training initiatives that support customer success and engagement. 

What we’re looking for 

  • Ideally 3 to 5 years’ experience in account management, sales, customer relationship management or business development 
  • Experience working with SME, corporate, government or global travel partner customers, such as AMEX GBT, would be advantageous 
  • Experience within corporate travel, travel management, aviation, tourism, hospitality or another service-based commercial environment would be advantageous 
  • Proven success managing customer portfolios and delivering revenue, retention or growth outcomes 
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver mutually beneficial solutions 
  • Excellent relationship management skills with confidence engaging a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to turn data and insights into meaningful recommendations 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills 
  • Strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively 
  • A customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.

Skills Required

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in account management, sales, customer relationship management or business development
